User guides

This section provides step-by-step tutorials covering common use cases for running experiments, executing workflows, and managing data in QruiseOS. It's intended to be read alongside the corresponding example notebooks pre-installed in your QruiseOS tenant and available on the hosted JupyterHub at ~/qruise/examples. These notebooks are connected to a mock QPU with synthetic data, allowing you to explore QruiseOS without needing access to a real QPU.

Bootstrapping for example notebooks (admins)

Bootstrapping prepares the QruiseOS environment so that the example notebooks can run correctly. It initialises the required database schema and loads synthetic data for the mock QPU used in the tutorials.

Not a system administrator?

This section is intended for system administrators only. If you are not responsible for managing your QruiseOS installation, you can skip this step and proceed directly to the examples.

If the example notebooks do not run as expected, it may be because the environment has not been bootstrapped. In that case, contact your system administrator.

To bootstrap the environment as an admin:

  1. Log in to the QruiseOS-hosted JupyterHub instance as an admin user
  2. Navigate to ~/qruise/admin/bootstrap
  3. Run the init-kb.ipynb notebook in both:
  4. my-new-qpu
  5. onboarding-chip
